Early Modern is a perfume brand emphasising transparency and craftsmanship in its fragrances.

To establish a unique visual identity for each perfume, I initially assigned a colour to represent the aroma of each ingredient, creating a
Scent Palette. This approach allows customers
to understand the characteristics of each ingredient better.

Early Modern provides customised fragrances
in its store. I developed an online version of this personalised experience using elements from the Scent Palette.

Abstract illustrations are generated when the user selects individual ingredients and their proportions. These illustrations are created with the data of ingredients and proportions. It becomes a unique characteristic of each perfume.

Customers can utilize a scanner on the mobile website to scan the illustration. This will reveal the ingredients and their proportions in the perfume. This feature can be used when customers share their perfume preferences or wish to discover how other fragrances are formulated. The system only needs to distinguish the colours and the proportions of the pixels.

This rebranding strategy encourages customers to engage more intimately with Early Modern, reinforcing their connection to the brand and its dedication to transparency and uniqueness in its fragrance compositions.
