Seobongchong is a tomb from the Silla era (57 BC - 935 AD) that housed royalty. An exhibition showcasing newly discovered relics was held at the National Museum of Korea, the country's premier museum, between October 2020 and March 2021.
In this project, I served as the project manager.
My responsibilities encompassed understanding the historical context and collaborating with archaeologists to plan and design the entire exhibition. This effort resulted in highly positive client feedback and generated 12% more profit than initially anticipated for the company.
I aimed to create a unique and immersive experience for the audience, setting this exhibition apart. Visitors are transported into the ancient world by designing the space to resemble a tomb filled with relics. The colour orange was chosen to infuse the area with vibrancy and energy of the original tomb.
The central structure serves a dual purpose: it acts as a barrier and a wall, piquing visitors' curiosity who wonder what lies behind it. To emphasize the exhibition's theme, "The Eternal Sacrament," I arranged a window display showcasing relics, accentuated by strategically placed lightings.
As a project manager, I was responsible for every aspect, from the initial concept to the 3D, graphic design, presentation, and budgeting.
