Product Design

Designed in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) for the Parastronaut feasibility project, the Aerial Drift is a mobility-enhancing device tailor-made for parastronauts in microgravity environments. Doubling as a safety tool and a means of transport, this device addresses the needs of those who may struggle to traverse the station or future larger sections.

Design and Functionality:
The Aerial Drift is equipped with two handles, each containing an on/off button and a charging mechanism. These handles are connected by a hollow core that manages the device's air output. Inside each handle, a battery, a compact engine, and a high-power fan are housed, collectively producing a robust airflow to propel the user in the desired direction. The device offers two operational modes - a closed mode for single-handed operation and an open mode for a two-handed grip. The user intuitively controls the direction of movement by simply aiming the device.
