Client: War Memorial of Korea

Exhibition Design

The War Memorial of Korea initiated an exhibition to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Korean War. I contributed to conceptual development and product design as a part of Design Alto.

Our objective was to bring 37 diverse personal narratives to life, each spotlighting a unique journey of sacrifice during the Korean War. With this in mind, my team and I designed a series of furniture pieces, subtly echoing the solemnity of tombstones, each serving as a silent tribute to the heroic individuals represented.

Each furniture piece was a gateway into the life of a brave individual commemorated. These installations, housing video narratives, granted visitors a unique insight into the heroes' lives pre-war and their gallant service during the conflict.

My primary responsibilities involved the design and structural integrity of these interactive installations, demanding a blend of artistic vision and engineering skills. I also meticulously positioned these pieces within the exhibition space, ensuring a fluid and immersive visitor experience. Lastly, I had the privilege of presenting our exhibition design to an audience, including ambassadors and military personnel.
